Photo editing before photoshop

Computers and their editing programs have been very helpful in retouching photographs. Back when analogue photography was still around, photographs could only be manipulated manually.

The editing of photography before photoshop was done with all kinds of techniques, many were difficult and had to use many hours of work.

One of the most famous and most used techniques was the called double exposure. This consists of taking two photographs in the same frame, managing to create incredible compositions.

Double exposure was also used in conjunction with compositions such as the photograph I have placed above by Henry Peach Robinson. This image was created by joining different negatives in the darkroom and also manipulating the exposures of each one.

If we talk about photo editing, we cannot ignore the photographic retouching of celebrities and Hollywood stars. The most famous photographers had personal retouchers that helped them edit photos to remove wrinkles or highlight highlights and shadows.
